Astghik Hayrapetyan
Astghik Hayrapetyan is a Trustee at Open Borders Institute and a highly experienced public administration professional, with a background in international cooperation, EU program coordination, and development financing.
Over the past decade, she has held strategic roles within Armenia’s governmental institutions, where she has contributed to reforms, managed donor-funded initiatives, and worked closely with international development partners to advance key public sector programs. Her portfolio has included EU technical assistance, grant and loan coordination, and cooperation with multilateral actors.
Astghik holds a PhD in International Relations from the Institute of Oriental Studies at the National Academy of Sciences, alongside a Master’s degree in the same field from Yerevan State University. Her academic and professional expertise centers on Middle East and South Caucasus geopolitics, international institutions, and strategic development.
At Open Borders, she brings her unique blend of public policy knowledge and regional insight to support the Institute’s governance, particularly in areas related to European integration, and institutional reform.
