Gohar Hayrapetyan
Gohar Hayrapetyan is a Trustee at Open Borders Institute and one of Armenia’s most respected and trusted media voices. With over 25 years of experience across radio, print, television, and online platforms, she has consistently used her platform to elevate truth, accountability, and public understanding.
As a journalist, political commentator, and television host, Gohar has helped shape national conversations on democracy, governance, and rights. But beyond reporting, she stands firmly beside survivors and advocates — using her voice to raise awareness around gender-based violence, the protection of women and girls, and the urgent need for ethical and responsible media.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Multimedia Journalism and Media Management at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), building on her deep experience with new tools and international frameworks for modern journalism.
At Open Borders, Gohar brings not only her storytelling skills, but a deep moral clarity. She helps guide the organization’s work in advocacy, ethical communication, and public engagement — ensuring that every voice we uplift is heard with dignity, and every story we share builds toward justice.
